The Anambra Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed over 1,531 operatives to provide security and surveillance around critical government infrastructures ahead of President Bola Tinubu’s visit.

The Anambra Corps’ Commandant, Maku Olatunde, disclosed this in a statement signed by its Head of Media and Tactical Unit, SC Okadigbo Edwin.

Olatunde said that the deployed personnel were drawn from Enugu, Imo, Abia, Ebonyi, and Delta states to reinforce security operations in Anambra.

Recall that the Anambra government had announced Tinubu’s visit to the state scheduled for May 8.

Olatunde noted that the NSCDC in collaboration with other security agencies has intensified covert surveillance, increased joint operations and raided criminal hideouts to secure the state ahead of his visit.

He said, “The command had made robust security arrangements with sister security agencies to ensure a successful state visit of Mr. President, the first critical asset in the country.

“Our personnel would be positioned in strategic locations including the airport, bridges, government buildings, parks ,markets , electricity substations, telecommunication facilities, solution fun city facilities, and other sensitive locations across the state before, during and after the visit.”

The NSCDC Commandant further reaffirmed readiness to prevent all forms of obstruction to the free-flow of Tinubu’s entourage on the mapped-out routes.

The NSCDC boss cautioned operatives to exhibit a high sense of professionalism and civility especially in synergy with other sister security agencies.

He also advised members of the public to be law-abiding.
