Wikki Tourists’ technical adviser, Abdullahi Maikaba, believes his players must improve their performance ahead of the 2025–26 Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL season.

The Bauchi Elephants are currently participating in a pre-season tournament in Lafia.

Maikaba noted that the pre-season matches provide an opportunity to assess new talents vying for a place in the squad.

“The pre-season tournament is a platform to test new players who are trying to earn a place in the squad, we’ve seen some positives and also identified areas that need improvement,” Maikaba told the club’s media.

Wikki Tourists are set to face Plateau United in their opening fixture of the new campaign.

The 2025–26 NPFL season is scheduled to kick off on Friday, August 22.
