Enyimba Football Club of Aba has announced the departure of 22 players from the senior team, with three others sent out on loan.

In a statement issued on the club’s official page on Monday, Enyimba said the development is part of preparations for the new season, which kicks off on August 22.

The released players include Brown Ideye, Ani Ozoemenam, Musa Babalola, Innocent Gabriel and Fatai Abdulahi. Others are Umeh Gozie, Alade Balogun, Imo Ikemdinachi, and Leonard Obinna.

According to Enyimba’s management, the players loaned out are Obichere Odinaka, Purpose Ahumaraezemma and Samuel Nuako.

The former Nigerian and CAF Champions wished the departing players the best of luck in their future endeavours.

Meanwhile, Enyimba will begin their 2025/2026 league campaign with an away fixture against newcomers Barau FC, before hosting Niger Tornadoes and Nasarawa United in their next two home games.
