The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has reiterated its commitment to aligning operations with the presidential directives on boosting oil production and attracting fresh investments, in line with set national targets for 2027 and 2030.

President Bola Tinubu had told the NNPC management to attract sectoral investments worth $30bn by 2027 and $60bn by 2030; raise crude oil production to over 2 million barrels per day, sustained through 2027 and attain 3 million by 2030; expand refining output to 200kbpd by 2027, and 500kbpd by 2030; grow gas production to 10bcf per day by 2027, and 12bcf by 2030 and deepen energy access and affordability for all Nigerians.

Speaking at the “New Industries and Energy Transition Session” during the Brazil-Nigeria Bilateral Business Forum in Brasilia, Brazil, NNPC Ltd.’s Executive Vice President, Upstream, Mr Udy Ntia, highlighted the company’s production focus, year-end goals, and energy transition plans.

He underscored ongoing efforts to meet the presidential targets, pursue decarbonisation, and unlock Nigeria’s vast untapped gas reserves, reaffirming the country’s readiness for global investment.

The high-level forum, themed “Partnerships for Development”, was held on the sidelines of President Bola Tinubu’s State Visit to Brazil.

It attracted top policymakers, investors, and business leaders from both countries to consolidate progress from earlier editions and foster partnerships across critical sectors, including food security, energy transition, health innovation, and financing.

Dignitaries in attendance included the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun; Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole; Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo; and the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Yemi Cardoso.

NNPC Ltd reaffirmed its commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions through strategic international collaborations and expressed readiness to leverage the forum’s outcomes to strengthen Brazil–Nigeria ties for mutual prosperity.
