Nnamdi Kanu Lawyer Calls For Emergency Igbo Meeting Over Insecurity
A human rights activist, Barr Aloy Ejimakor, Monday, called on leaders of the Igbo race to convene an emergency meeting of all Igbo stakeholders to address the insecurity ravaging Igbo land.
Barr Ejimakor, who’s Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer, was reacting to a recent killing of four persons at Ikpakpara, Eha-Amufu in Isi-Uzo Local Government Area of Enugu State.
Kanu is the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). He’s standing trial for alleged treason in Nigerian court and has been in DSS detention.
The legal luminary made the call via his X. His message, addressed to the Igbo leaders, read, “Dear Igbo leaders (elected and unelected), are you waiting for #Benue to happen to Ndigbo before you convene an emergency #IgboNationalMeeting to rid our forests of genocidal elements whose only purpose is to terrorize, rape, murder and kidnap Ndigbo. Where’s thy mojo?”
The attack at Ikpakpara, Eha-Amufu, a few days ago, was preceded by a similar attack at Mgbuji, Eha-Amufu, leading to some deaths, mainly farmers.
There have been calls on the governors of South-East Nigeria to create a regional security network to secure the states of Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo states from the increasing insecurity in the region.
