Nigerian Stocks Gain as ASI Rises 0.30% to 139,395 Points

Nigeria’s Stock Market Rebounds as MTN, Dangote Cement Lead Broad Gains

On Monday, the Nigerian stock market ended on a positive note as the All-Share Index increased by 0.30%, closing at 139,394.75 points compared to Friday’s 138,980.01 points.

Market capitalisation rose by N262 billion, reaching N88.199 trillion from the previous session’s N87.937 trillion.

A total of 948 million shares changed hands across 36,036 transactions, with a combined value of N18 billion.

The market breadth was favourable, with 41 stocks recording gains while 18 declined.

Leading the gainers were PZ and University Press, each rising by 10.00% to close at N35.20 and N5.50 respectively, up from N32.00 and N5.00.

Other notable increases included ELLAHLAKES, which grew by 9.94%, and Legend Internet, which rose by 9.90%.

On the downside, IMG, ENAMELWA, THOMASWYAT, and UNIONDICON each lost 10.00% of their share prices. Academy Press and Eterna Oil also declined by 9.95% and 9.36% respectively.

FCMB saw approximately 461 million shares traded in 679 deals, valued at around N4.7 billion.

Universal Insurance recorded about 42 million shares traded in 318 deals, worth N53.4 million.

Royal Exchange traded roughly 35 million shares in 108 deals, with a value of about N72.5 million.
