Nigerian soldier killed in gun duel with bandits as operatives rescue Chinese national in Kogi

A Nigerian soldier deployed to protect persons working in a construction company in Ogaminana, Adavi local government area of Kogi State have been killed by suspected kidnappers.

DAILY POST gathered that the incident occurred on Monday morning when the assasins invaded the construction site.

The gunmen reportedly abducted a Chinese national, who was also working at the site and whisked him to an unknown destination.

Sources said the armed men abandoned their vehicle along the Radio Kogi Booster junction at Otite, a few meters away from the scene of the incident.

However, a combined team of the military, police, hunters and vigilante gave the assailants a hot chase, leading to the rescue of the Chinese citizen.

The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO Kogi State Command, SP William Ovye Aya did not take his call when contacted by DAILY POST for details on the matter.
