3. The Chairman of Bariga Local Council and Chairman of the Conference of 57 Chairmen in Lagos State, Kolade Alabi, has hailed Lagosians and the people of Bariga for turning out massively to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC). Speaking on the outcome of the local government elections, Alabi said the voters’ overwhelming support for his party was a reflection of the party’s strong grassroots presence.

4. President Bola Tinubu has approved the establishment of an inter-ministerial committee to manage the planning and organisation of a state burial for former President Muhammadu Buhari, who died on Sunday. The committee came on a day the Federal Government declared today public holiday in honour of the late former President.

Akpabio, through his legal team, approached the Court of Appeal in Abuja to challenge the July 4 judgment delivered by Justice Binta Nyako, which nullified Akpoti-Uduaghan’s six-month suspension from the Red Chamber.

9. Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on Monday, took a swipe at the Interim National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress, Rauf Aregbesola, saying the former governor left huge debt for his predecessors in office.
