The 6 Division Garrison has emerged as the champion of the Nigerian Army’s 2025 Inter-Brigade Competition, which took place at the 6 Division Physical Training Ground in Port Harcourt Barracks.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the completion, the Special Guest of Honour, the General Officer Commanding(GOC)  6 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Emmanuel Emekah, congratulated the participants, particularly the winning team, on their outstanding performance.

He praised the passion and sportsmanship displayed by the teams, noting that the level of camaraderie and esprit de corps among the brigades was truly inspiring.

He noted that the competition served as a platform for soldiers to showcase their skills, build relationships, and enhance unit cohesion.

Emekah said, “As we bring the 6 Division Inter-Brigade Sports Competition 2025 to a close, I congratulate all and most especially the winning team for their outstanding performance and sportsmanship.

He said, “I commend all the participants for their dedication, teamwork, and enthusiasm throughout the tournament. Your passion for the game has been truly inspiring, and I am proud to see such camaraderie and esprit de corps among our brigades.”

The GOC equally expressed gratitude to 6 Division Garrison, the host formation for the exceptional way it organised the event, as well as the officials and volunteers who worked tirelessly to ensure the success of the tournament.

He urged the participants to positively utilize forged bonds and lessons learned in the course of the event.

“I would also like to express my gratitude to the host formation, 6 Division Garrison, for the wonderful organization, and to the officials, and volunteers who have worked tirelessly to ensure the success of this event. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed, and we are all grateful for your hard work.

“As we conclude this competition, let us carry the spirit of teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship back to our units.
