The Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State, has officially announced the commencement of admissions into its 12th Regular Course Degree Programmes for the 2024/2025 academic session.

In a press release signed by the Registrar, Barr. Ekpere Fidelis Ezeugwu, the Academy stated that the online application portal will open on July 28, 2025 and close on September 8 2025, giving prospective candidates a six-week window to apply.

Applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth with a valid National Identity Number, NIN, and have a 2025 JAMB result with a minimum score of 180, choosing the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, as their first-choice institution. They must also have at least six credits in WAEC or NECO, including English and Mathematics, obtained in no more than two sittings, be between 16 and 21 years of age by October 31, 2025, and meet minimum height requirements of 1.67 metres for males and 1.64 metres for females, with males additionally required to have a chest measurement of at least 86 centimetres. Candidates must be medically, physically and psychologically fit and must not be married or pregnant at the time of admission.

Applicants are required to visit the Academy’s website, www.admission.polac.edu.ng, to generate a Remita Retrieval Reference code for the payment of a non-refundable fee of N6,000, which includes the Post-UTME Examination fee, through any commercial bank. They must then complete and submit the online application form, print it, and upload scanned copies of their SSCE, birth certificate and certificate of origin before submitting them during the aptitude test.

All candidates will sit for a Computer-Based Aptitude Test at the Academy’s ICT Centre. Those who pass will proceed to automated physical screening and medical examinations, while shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews and selection exercises. Successful candidates will be notified via email and SMS, with the date for commencement of training to be announced later.

According to Ezeugwu, the Academy offers degree programmes across three faculties: Humanities, which includes B.A. English, B.A. History & International Studies, and B.A. Linguistics and Nigerian Languages; Science, which includes B.Sc. Computer Science, B.Sc. Forensic Science, and B.Sc. Biological Sciences; and Social and Management Sciences, which includes B.Sc. Accounting, B.Sc. Political Science, and B.Sc. Psychology. Graduates undergo a five-year combined academic and police training programme, culminating in the award of a Bachelor’s degree and commissioning as Assistant Superintendents of Police, ASP.
