Nigeria already broken – Nnamdi Kanu’s brother tells federal govt

Younger brother to the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, Kanunta, on Friday, refuted claims by the fedearal government that Kanu deliberately threatened the unity of Nigeria.

Kanunta, who insisted that Nigeria was already broken before his brother’s actions, was reacting to submission by the Nigerian government in court, that Kanu’s threat to break up Nigeria was deliberate and not a mere threat.

The Federal Government had told the Federal High Court in Abuja that Kanu made a broadcast on Biafra Radio where he openly and publicly declared his intention to break up Nigeria.

Responding to a No Case application made by Kanu on Friday, the federal government lawyer, Chief Adegboyega Awomolo said Nigerians lived in great fear due to Kanu’s broadcast.

Reacting, Kanunta stressed that the argument of the prosecution was based on hearsay.

Posting on X, Kanunta challenged the Nigerian government to provide the evidence to backup its claim.

He wrote: “Is Nigeria not broken up already @LeadershipNGA, when an impostor ruled Nigeria for 6 years?

“The prosecution arguments are based on hearsay. Defence counsel Agabi bring your evidence.”
