Niger Police Arrest 70-Year-Old Man For Stabbing Prosecutor To Death

Men of the Nigerian Police have arrested one Sabo Manigi, a 70-year- old man for stabbing a prosecutor attached to Mashegu Magistrate Court to death over minor misunderstanding.
The suspect who hails from Manigi village in Mashegu and was arrested by Police in Bode-Saadu village in Kwara State.
According to Wasiu Abiodun, Police Spokesman in Niger State, the suspect was trailed and arrested on Thursday in Bode-Saadu village of Kwara State.
His statement reads, “The operatives of Niger State Police Command have arrested a suspect, who has been on the run, one Alh. Sabo Manigi 70yrs of Manigi, Mashegu LGA on 25/2/2025 at about 3pm after being trailed to Bode-Saadu, Kwara State”.
He added that the suspect allegedly stabbed Musa Nasiru, a prosecutor of Magistrate court, Mashegu to death.
“It could be recalled that the suspect allegedly stabbed Inspector Musa Nasiru, a prosecutor attached to Magistrate Court, Mashegu to death on January 3rd, 2025 over a minor misunderstanding and escaped to an unknown destination, until now being arrested”.
He further stated that the suspect confessed to the crime as he is under investigation in SCID Minna, adding that he would be charged to court for prosecution as soon as the investigation is concluded.
