NGX Extends Rally as All Share Index Climbs to 146,055 Points
The Nigerian Exchange (NGX) continued its upward trajectory on Tuesday, with the All-Share Index gaining 0.12% to close at 146,055.16 points, up from 145,880.77 points in the previous session.
Market capitalisation also rose by 0.12%, adding ₦111 billion to settle at ₦92.405 trillion from ₦92.294 trillion.
Trading activity remained robust, as 1.28 billion shares worth ₦24.3 billion exchanged hands in 31,155 deals. The market breadth was positive, with 50 stocks advancing against 29 decliners.
Top gainers included Prestige Assurance, ABC Transport, The Initiates, WAPIC, Sunu Assurance, Mansard, Ellah Lakes, and Champion Breweries, each recording a 10% rise. Julius Berger, Mutual Benefits, and Veritas Kapital followed closely, with gains of 9.99%, 9.97%, and 9.96%, respectively.
On the losing side, Juli led the chart with a 10% drop to ₦9.00 from ₦10.00. UNILEVER and Custodian also saw declines of 9.97% and 9.55%, respectively.
LASACO was among the most actively traded stocks, with 107 million units worth ₦439 million changing hands in 568 deals. Japaul Gold also matched this volume in 710 deals valued at ₦439 million, while Sterling Bank traded 98 million units worth ₦784 million in 632 deals.
