Newly posted Jigawa 24th CP assumes duty
The newly posted Jigawa State Police Commissioner, Muhammed Dahiru, has officially assumed duty as the 24th Commissioner of Police.
This was contained in a statement issued to DAILY POST by the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam.
He said CP Muhammed Dahiru takes over from CP AT Abdullahi, who had meritoriously retired from active service after a distinguished career in the Nigeria Police Force.
A seasoned and thoroughbred police officer, he was born on June 20, 1966, in Garun Malam Local Government Area, Kano State.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science (BSc) from Bayero University Kano from 1984 to 1988 where he was deployed to Lagos State for a one-year mandatory national service (NYSC) from 1988 to 1989.
CP Muhammed Dahiru was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASPII) and trained at Nigeria Police Academy Annex Kaduna from 1992 to 1993.
Prior to his posting to Jigawa State, he held several strategic positions within the Force, including head of key operational and investigative units across various commands and formations.
CP Dahiru pledged to strengthen inter-agency collaboration, community partnership, intelligence-led policing, and respect for human rights in line with the vision and mission of the Nigeria Police Force under the current leadership.
The CP also urged the public, traditional rulers, religious leaders, community-based organizations, and other key stakeholders to assist the police in promoting peace, security, and development across Jigawa State.
The command assured residents of its continued commitment to maintaining law and order and urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity through the command’s emergency contacts or the nearest police formation.
