New Wallet to Simplify DeFi Access for Newcomers, XRP Users

Flare Network has launched Luminite, a streamlined, non-custodial crypto wallet aimed at making decentralised finance (DeFi) easier to access, especially for users unfamiliar with the complexities of blockchain platforms. Built with simplicity in mind, Luminite offers a user experience that mirrors familiar Web2 logins, removing the usual technical hurdles associated with crypto onboarding.

Instead of using long, complicated seed phrases, users can create wallets quickly through passkeys, biometrics, or email. This seamless login is enabled by Turnkey’s secure in-wallet tech, which preserves self-custody while delivering the convenience of traditional fintech apps.

To make asset acquisition simple, Luminite integrates fiat on-ramps via providers like Topper, letting users purchase digital assets like FLR and XRP directly from the wallet interface.

Steve Chadwick, one of Luminite’s co-founders, explained the goal is to make decentralised applications more approachable: “We designed Luminite to take the friction out of DeFi. Anyone should be able to access the Flare ecosystem without needing to be crypto-savvy.”

Beyond its beginner-friendly interface, Luminite provides access to core DeFi features on Flare’s expanding network. Users can delegate their FLR tokens to FTSO providers, mint FXRP through the FAssets platform, trade tokens, bridge assets using Stargate, and even stake via Sceptre—all from within a single app.

As Flare’s DeFi environment grows in activity and total value locked (TVL), Luminite is positioning itself as both a gateway for newcomers and a practical hub for experienced users.

Looking ahead, Flare is also working with fintech giant Revolut on a Learn & Earn program, offering users a chance to explore and understand the Flare ecosystem while receiving incentives for engaging with educational content and wallet features.

Max Luck, Flare’s Head of Growth, summed up the initiative: “The early moments of entering DeFi should feel smooth and intuitive. Luminite makes that possible without compromising security or decentralisation.”
