New taxes: APC determined to compound Nigerians’ pains – ADC
The African Democratic Congress, ADC, has accused the All Progressives Congress, APC-led federal government of compounding the pains Nigerians are currently going through.
This is in reaction to the move by the federal government to implement both fuel and aviation taxes, effective from next year.
Speaking with journalists during the weekend in Abuja, the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Bolaji Abdullahi, said the APC-led federal government has no plan to mitigate the pains of Nigerians.
Abdullahi said Nigerians are already facing crippling economic challenges in the face of removal of fuel subsidy, devaluation of the Naira and scary foreign debts.
The ADC spokesman stated that Nigerians were determined to oust the APC in next general elections as a fresh mandate for the Tinubu-led administration would push them to early graves.
“You said we’ve been critical of the ruling party, that’s our work. That’s what opposition parties do. And that’s what they hate most, because they want to create a condition where no one will ask questions, where no one will shine the light on what they are doing. But that’s our work as opposition parties.
“Now, having said that, the question of whether four years is enough, yes, we’ve seen people who have recorded sterling achievements within four years,” he said.
