New Partnership Brings Privacy to Blockchain Payroll

Aleo Network Foundation, the non-profit organisation supporting the Aleo blockchain, has joined forces with Request Finance to introduce what they describe as the first privacy-focused crypto payroll system. Request Finance, already known for managing more than $1 billion in transactions, will now integrate Aleo’s zero-knowledge technology to give businesses a new way to pay workers and vendors securely.

The collaboration marks a turning point in blockchain payroll solutions, where privacy has often been overlooked in favour of transparency. Aleo’s system uses zero-knowledge proofs to enable programmable payments while concealing sensitive data such as employee salaries or treasury balances. This approach makes it possible to automate payroll and vendor transactions without publicly exposing confidential financial information, yet still comply with regulatory requirements.

The benefits are particularly relevant for two key groups: Web2 companies that need to pay global contractors without relying on slow, expensive bank transfers, and Web3-native firms that hold the bulk of their treasuries on-chain. For these organisations, a single exposed transaction can reveal financial vulnerabilities. By enabling privacy-preserving payroll, the integration addresses a crucial gap in the crypto economy.

Howard Wu, co-founder of Aleo, emphasised that the move represents more than a feature upgrade—it’s about redefining how blockchain and traditional finance intersect. “Privacy isn’t optional; it’s essential for meaningful adoption,” he noted. With Request Finance now supporting Aleo-based transactions, businesses can manage recurring payroll and sensitive invoices with the assurance that details remain shielded from public view.

Since its soft rollout, Request Finance has already processed $3.7 million in ALEO token payments, underlining early demand for discreet yet compliant crypto payroll systems. The initiative demonstrates how privacy-focused infrastructure can evolve blockchain from a transparent experiment into a practical tool for enterprise finance.
