Senator Ned Nwoko has announced the commencement of admissions for the 2025/2026 academic session of his institution the Sports University of Nigeria, Idumuje Ugboko.

Nwoko, while announcing the news via Facebook on Friday, stated that the university is more than an academic institution.

According to him, it is the culmination of years of planning, policy advocacy, and commitment to the empowerment of Nigeria’s youth through the fusion of education and sports.

‘It is with great pride and a deep sense of purpose that I announce the commencement of admissions into the 2025/2026 academic session at the Sports University of Nigeria Idumuje Ugboko,” he posted.

He further stated that the university, which aims to nurture intellectual discipline and harness physical talent, offers a range of programs designed to produce well-rounded graduates.

“Our goal has always been clear: to build a first-of-its-kind institution that nurtures intellectual discipline while harnessing physical talent. In doing so we aim to raise a generation of young Nigerians who are not only champions in their chosen sports but also leaders in medicine management, communication science and public service,” he said.

The senator added that the university’s programmes include sports and high-performance disciplines, mass communication, management, social and allied health sciences, sciences, and architecture.

Diploma, certificate, and direct entry programs are also available for those seeking alternative paths.

“Importantly every student of this university is required to undergo compulsory physical training under Category A because we believe that discipline resilience and excellence must be cultivated in both mind and body.

“As Chancellor I have insisted on a holistic approach to education one that prioritizes moral values national service and global relevance. The facilities are world class. The curriculum is forward thinking. And our commitment is to raise graduates who will compete not just locally but on the global stage.

“I warmly invite students parents athletes and professionals to seize this opportunity. The Sports University of Nigeria is ready. We await your brilliance your talent and your dreams,” he said.
