Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (Kogi-Central) on Wednesday dared the embattled President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, during a procession into the senate chamber as he remained seated.

The senator took her new seat allocated to her.

It is customary for senators in the chamber to stand during the traditional procession of the Senate leadership into the chamber.

All senators are expected to stand in acknowledgment of the senate president leading other principal officers into the chamber as a mark of respect and recognition to the office of the Senate President.

The Kogi Senator arrived at the National Assembly with the husband, Chief Emmanuel Uduaghan as a mark of solidarity.

After arriving at the chamber, she took her new seat, which she had attempted to raise concerns of but was denied by Akpabio.

That led to a clash in the chamber.

THE WHISTLER reports that the senator had accused Akpabio of sexual harassment in the past week saying her refusal has earned her denial of privileges.

The alarming allegation has led to protests with calls for Akpabio to resign for a proper investigation.

On Wednesday, several groups staged protests at the National Assembly demanding Akpabio’s resignation.

Akapbaio has not spoken since the allegation.
