Napoli Target Genk Striker Tolu Arokodare as Lukaku’s Injury Replacement
Tolu Arokodare, a striker from Nigeria, is apparently being considered by Italian champions Napoli as a possible replacement for Romelu Lukaku, who has been sidelined due to injury.
Scouts have been impressed with Arokodare’s physical presence, aerial skill, and goal-scoring ability. He is currently a member of the Belgian team KRC Genk.
As Napoli looks to keep their competitive edge in Serie A and Europe, the 23-year-old forward, who has also played for Nigeria’s Super Eagles, is viewed as a potential addition to the team’s attacking line.
After suffering an injury setback that might keep him out for several weeks, Lukaku, who joined Napoli on loan, left the team without attacking options.
Italian media report that Napoli’s management is considering making a move for Arokodare, whose market value is still reasonable compared to other forwards in Europe.
Arokodare would have the opportunity to establish himself at the highest level in one of Europe’s top five leagues, making the transfer a significant turning point in his career.
The Nigerian striker has previously stated that he wants to test himself outside of Belgium, and moving to Naples might help him achieve his goals more quickly.
