NAFDAC Arrests Fake Alcohol Producer In Port Harcourt

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) task force has arrested a man identified as Anthony Chidi at Mile 3 Market, Diobu, Port Harcourt, for producing fake alcoholic beverages under unsanitary conditions.
Chidi was caught inside a filthy shop where he was washing used bottles of various alcoholic brands and refilling them with unwholesome drinks for resale.
In a statement shared on the agency’s official X account (formerly twitter), NAFDAC officials during the raid, discovered dirty empty bottles, ethanol, bottle caps, and packaging materials used in the illegal operation.
When interrogated, Chidi admitted to having run the illicit business for about a year, sourced labels from Aba and purchasing used bottles.
The statement noted that NAFDAC has evacuated the shop, confiscated all the items found on site for further investigation.
