NAF Airstrikes Kill 35 Terrorists Near Cameroon Border
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), under Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), killed at least 35 terrorists in precision airstrikes at Kumshe, a border community near Nigeria and Cameroon.
NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the operation took place in the early hours of Saturday, August 23, 2025, against terrorist movements in the area.
According to Ejodame, troops intensified efforts to dominate the battlespace in the North East and acted on multiple intelligence reports from several sources.
He explained that the air component carried out successive precision strikes on four identified assembly areas, “engaging the terrorists and neutralising more than 35 fighters.”
Following the airstrikes, Ejodame said ground troops re-established communication and confirmed that the situation around their location had stabilised.
The operation, he noted, disrupted terrorist logistics and movement corridors across the North East border regions, further reinforcing coordination between the Air Component and ground forces.
Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, praised the professionalism of the aircrew and stressed that the NAF would continue aggressive, intelligence-driven operations aimed at fully degrading terrorist groups threatening Nigeria’s sovereignty.
