Money laundering: Fayose eats Amala with bricklayers to celebrate court victory (VIDEO)

Former Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose, on Wednesday celebrated his victory at the Federal High Court in Lagos.

Fayose marked the occasion by buying and eating a local delicacy, amala with ewedu soup, alongside some bricklayers at a construction site.

The spokesman for the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, Lere Olayinka, shared a video of Fayose’s celebration on his Facebook page.

Olayinka wrote: “Fayose celebrates Court Victory, eating amala with site workers.”

In the video, Fayose said: “We are grateful to God and that is why we are celebrating with Amala, Jesus Christ said these ones are my family.”

Pointing to the bricklayers, Fayose added: “These are my family people, these gentle men here. We thank God for giving victory after seven years.”

DAILY POST had earlier reported that the court discharged and acquitted Fayose of all charges in the N6.9 billion money laundering case.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, had brought the charges against the former governor.

Fayose had been on trial since July 2, 2019, when the anti-graft agency first filed the case.

However, Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke held that the prosecution’s case lacked credible evidence.

“The prosecution failed to link the defendant to the alleged crimes in a manner that warrants this court to call upon him to open his defence,” the court ruled.
