Ministry Probes Allegations Against FGGC Benin Teacher

The Federal Ministry of Education (FME) has launched an investigation into allegations against Mr. Jatto, a teacher at Federal Government Girls’ College (FGGC) in Benin City.

According to a statement released by the ministry’s Director, Press and Public Relations, Boriowo Folasade on Thursday, initial allegations suggested sexual harassment but a thorough review revealed that the incident was a case of high-handed classroom management.

“Earlier on, an investigative panel set up by the school has already submitted its report. The Preliminary findings indicate that Mr. Jatto was on prep supervision duty at the time of the incident and was responding to a rowdy classroom situation,” the statement said.

The statement added that the principal of the school has been summoned to the Ministry Headquarters in Abuja for further clarification.

“The final findings of the investigation will be officially announced in due course. The Ministry remains committed to transparency and upholding the integrity of educational institutions across the country,” the statement.

The Ministry urged the public to exercise patience as the investigation is ongoing adding that the final findings will be officially announced in due course.
