Mid-Term: Abia Rep, Nwankwo Kanu, Others Hail Otti’s Unprecedented Achievements
The member representing the Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa, has congratulated Governor Alex Otti on the occasion of his second anniversary in office, describing his tenure so far as visionary, transformative, and deeply impactful on the lives of Abians.
In a statement personally signed by Osonwa on Wednesday, the lawmaker commended the governor’s leadership style, which he said has ushered in a new era of purposeful governance in Abia State.
Osonwa particularly commended Governor Otti for signing into law the Greater Ohafia Development Authority (GODA) bill, a legislative milestone designed to accelerate development in the Abia North Senatorial District of the state.
He described the establishment of GODA as a bold and strategic move to bring infrastructure, investment, and administrative attention to long-neglected communities.
According to him, the signing of GODA into law represents a clear commitment to inclusive growth and development.
He further lauded Governor Otti’s unprecedented strides in infrastructural development across the state, especially in his federal constituency. These include the ongoing reconstruction of the 41.4-kilometre Ohafia-Arochukwu Road, which had been abandoned for decades despite its critical economic importance.
He also noted the commencement and progress on the Omenuko Bridge, the Ndi Okereke Abam-Arochukwu Road, and the Umuahia-Uzuakoli-Abiriba-Ohafia Road, all of which are strategically important to improving access, mobility, and commerce across Abia North.
The federal lawmaker applauded the governor’s Smart Schools initiative across the state as a major leap in educational transformation. Osonwa said the project symbolises a new era in education for children in Abia State.
He noted that with the plan to establish smart schools in all 17 local government areas of the state, Governor Otti is laying the groundwork for a digital, innovative, and future-ready education system.
Rep. Osonwa also recognised the administration’s efforts in revamping the healthcare sector, especially the ongoing retrofitting of 200 primary healthcare centres and the upgrade of select general hospitals to specialist status.
He said such interventions are vital in ensuring accessible and quality healthcare services across the state, especially for rural and underserved communities.
He concluded by assuring Governor Otti of his continued support and partnership in delivering people-centred projects to the good people of Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency and beyond.
Rep. Osonwa noted that the governor’s achievements within two years are not just impressive but a testament to what visionary leadership anchored on accountability, transparency, and service can accomplish.
“As we mark this second anniversary of Governor Alex Otti’s administration, we celebrate a leader who is not only fulfilling his campaign promises but is also setting a new standard for governance in Abia State.
“His dedication, courage, and commitment to rebuilding our state are visible and commendable. The people of Arochukwu/Ohafia are proud to be part of this new Abia,” Osonwa stated.
Also, the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Abia State, has joined to extol and celebrate the achievements of the governor within two years in office.
According to the agency, in a goodwill message on Wednesday, Governor Otti has proven that public funds can be used judiciously in the transformation of the state.
NOA advocates for leaders with a genuine intention to make positive changes that would improve the lives of the people.
The NOA stated that making a positive impact does not require a long stay in governance, noting that it requires visionary leadership, integrity, stewardship and accountability.
From the sporting sector, the Chairman of Enyimba Football Club of Aba, Amb Kanu Papilo’ Nwankwo, has congratulated Otti on the 2nd anniversary of his administration.
Amb Kanu, who made his felicitations and that of the club known through Enyimba Media, said, In two years of selfless and uncommon stewardship of our dear amiable and dynamic Governor, Abia indeed is moving forward.
In the release, he appreciated Gov. Otti’s visionary policies and all-around sector signature projects that have continued to positively impact Ndi-Abia like never before.
He also thanked the governor for his unwavering support towards sports growth/youth development in the state, which he said inspires all, “including us at Enyimba to succeed”.

Also hailing Otti, the Chairman, Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Linus Nto Mbah (LINTO), congratulated Otti, his family and members of the State Executive Council on the 2-year anniversary of the governor.
Eze Nto Mbah, in his anniversary goodwill message, noted with profound joy the numerous giant strides achieved by Governor Otti within 2 years in office and said it was unprecedented.
Eze Linus Nto Mbah, who described Governor Otti as CHIOMA NDI ABIA, pointed out that within 2 years in office, Governor Otti has changed the narratives in road infrastructure, which cuts across various communities in the state; renovation of schools; introduction of free and compulsory basic education; retrofitting of 200 primary healthcare centres; upgrading of some healthcare facilities to specialist hospitals; and security and said the achievements are unparalleled.
He also noted that Governor Otti has prioritised the welfare of the workers and pensioners in the state, paid arrears of salaries and pensions owed to to civil servants and pensioners by the previous administration and initiated regular payment of workers’ salaries and pensions on the 28th of every month, as well as created a conducive environment for workers.
The royal father commended the governor for increasing the monthly stipend of the traditional rulers in Abia State from a paltry sum to at least 250,000 Naira each, completing and furnishing the secretariat of the traditional rulers at the JAAC Building, organising the first Abia State Traditional Rulers Workshop and ensuring special Christmas packages are made available for them.
While praying to the Almighty God to continue to strengthen Governor Otti as he enters the 3rd year of his administration, he encouraged Abians and residents to sustain their support for the Governor.
