Man City Complete Signing Of Reijnders From AC Milan Ahead Club World Cup

Manchester City have confirmed the signing of midfielder Tijjani Reijnders from AC Milan on a five-year contract for an initial fee of £46.5m.
The Dutch midfielder is Man City’s fourth signing of the special transfer window after Rayan Ait-Nouri, Marcus Bettinelli, and Rayan Cherki ahead of the FIFA World Club Cup.
The club confirmed his signing with a statement on their website on Wednesday.
The statement read: Manchester City are delighted to announce the signing of Tijjani Reijnders on a five-year deal. The 26-year-old Netherlands international joins from AC Milan, where he has spent the last two seasons.
“An energetic yet classy operator capable of playing in an attacking or defensive role, Reijnders was named Serie A’s Best Midfielder in 2024/25.
‘That accolade came after netting 15 goals in 54 games, more than doubling his previous best tally in a single campaign.”
Reijnders was ranked ninth for forward passes in Italy’s top flight last term and was fifth for through balls and carrying the ball.
He was delighted to join Manchester City, expressing his desire to win trophies at the Etihad Stadium.
Reijnders said: “I am ecstatic to be signing for Manchester City. They are one of the biggest teams in the world, with the best coach, world-class players and outstanding facilities. Under Pep Guardiola, City have won so many titles, and I want to help keep that going with a lot more success in the coming years.
“It is also a dream come true to play in the Premier League. This league has seen many of the best Dutch players perform through the years and it’s an inspiration to follow in their footsteps.
“I am really looking forward to getting going, meeting the other players and showing the Manchester City fans what I can do.”
Reijnders has been capped 23 times by the Netherlands, and joined AC Milan in 2023 on a five-year contract before extending it until 2030 in March.
He made 104 appearances for the club in all competitions, winning the Italian Super Cup and was named Serie A’s best midfielder last season.
