Liverpool Reject Bid For Diaz
Liverpool have rejected Bayern Munich’s opening £58.6m offer for Colombian forward Luis Diaz.
The Bundesliga giants are looking out for attacking reinforcements following the injury sustained by Jamal Musiala, and the departure of Leroy Sane.
Kompany’s team have missed out of two key targets this summer with the likes of Florian Wirtz, and Nico Williams rejecting their advances.
Earlier this month, Liverpool informed Bayern Munich that the former Porto forward was not for sale.
However, The German champions submitted a new bid for Diaz on Tuesday which was worth £58.5m – and the club turned it down outrightly.
According to Sky in Germany, Bayern are preparing another offer for Diaz, who remains a top priority for the German champions.
Diaz has two years left on his contract, and he is is open to a move to Bayern Munich according to reports in England.
Liverpool’s position on Diaz remains that he is an important player not just for the coming season but for the remainder of his contract.
The Anfield club are understood to have made that clear to all interested clubs, which has also included Barcelona this summer.
Liverpool’s internal accounting of assets values Diaz at more than £86m (€100m+) and the club have not set a sale price because they do not want to.
The 28-year-old has been linked with the likes of Barcelona, Al-Nassr and now Bayern Munich ahead of the 2025-26 season.
Diaz joined Liverpool from Porto in January 2022 for an initial fee of £37.5m.
He played a vital role in leading the club to the Premier League title last season with 13 goals, seven assists while racking up 50 appearances in all competitions.
Overall, Diaz has played 148 times for Liverpool, and scored 41 goals for the club.
