Lewandowski Set For Barcelona Return Against Inter Milan

Robert Lewandowski has recovered from a hamstring injury, and he is expected to make a return for Barcelona in their Champions League semi-final second leg clash on Tuesday.

The Polish forward has missed Barcelona’s last four matches in all competitions, including the first leg, which ended 3-3 in Spain. He returned to training at the weekend.

The 36-year-old has been included in Barcelona’s travelling party to Italy for the second-leg encounter at San Siro.

Lewandowski has scored 40 goals for Barcelona in all competitions this season, and he will be expected to take his position as the team’s number nine in the clash.

However, Alejandro Balde is expected to miss out on the encounter after failing to recover from the hamstring injury he sustained on April 12.

The Blaugrana will be without their ever-present defender Jules Kounde, who has been ruled out of action for three weeks with a hamstring injury.

Marc Casado is back in training, but he is not expected to feature in the encounter, same as Ter Stegen, who was in goal against Valladolid on Saturday. The German goalkeeper has not been registered for the Champions League.

Meanwhile, Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi has revealed his plans to stop Barcelona’s young star Lamine Yamal.

He said, “We have to try to keep the ball from getting to him, but it’s impossible.

“He will obviously be double-marked; he’ll be a marked man, and we’ll try to pay close attention to him.

“Seeing him live, he’s an incredible talent, truly very dangerous — everyone gives him the ball. What impressed me was his speed of thought; he always knows what play to make.”

Yamal caused a lot of problems for Inter Milan in the first leg with a dazzling display while also scoring a stunning goal.

The 17-year-old became the youngest player to score in a UEFA Champions League semifinal against Inter on Wednesday.
