LeBron James Targets Full Fitness Ahead Training Camp

Basketball legend LeBron James has set his sights on gaining full fitness from a knee injury ahead of the training camp in preparation for his 23rd NBA season.
James sustained a knee ligament injury in April during the season-ending playoff loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 5 of the first round.
An MRI revealed that he suffered a Grade 2 MCL sprain in his left knee, and has been out of action since then, potentially ending his season.
The 40-year-old confirmed that he is feeling good, and recovering fast ahead of the training camp for the start of next session.
James said: “I have a lot of time to take care of my injury, my knee, the rest of my body and make sure I’m as close to 100 percent as possible when training camp begins in late September.
James said he is inspired with the opportunity to share the court with his son while crediting his family for always pushing him.
He said: “They’re like, ‘Dad, continue on your dream. This is your dream. Continue on your focus. You’ve been here for us this whole time. When you have that type of support … It makes it a lot easier.
James averaged 24.4 points per game along with 8.2 assists and 7.8 rebounds and was an All-NBA selection.
He refused to put a timeline to his retirement date as he closes in on a successful career.
James concluded: “At this point of my career, you think about when the end is. That’s human nature. You think, is it this year? Or next year? Those thoughts always creep into your mind at this point of the journey. But I have not given it a specific timetable, date. I’m seeing how my body and family reacts too.”
James is the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, and has won four NBA championships from 10 NBA Finals appearances, having made eight consecutive appearances between 2011 and 2018.
He also won the inaugural NBA Cup in 2023 with the Lakers and has won three Olympic gold medals as a member of the U.S. national team.
