Lagos Tops TRCN Exams With 80% Pass Rate
The Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) has released the results of the Batch ‘A’ Professional Qualifying Examination (PQE) for 2025, held from May 15-17 nationwide.
According to the result shared with the media, Lagos State led the pack with an impressive 80 percent pass rate, followed by Edo State, 73.3 percent; Niger State, 69.2 percent and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), 68.3 percent.
The results showed that 8,705 candidates, 67.62 percent passed, while 4,169, 32.38 percent, failed.
Out of 13,782 registered candidates, 12,874 (93.4 percent) participated, with 908 (6.6 percent) absent.
The statement by the Council noted that the examination faced challenges, including low digital skills among some teachers.
To address this, TRCN stated that it plans to offer digital literacy training, curriculum guides, and past questions online.
It urged candidates to check their results online or visit TRCN offices.
TRCN encouraged candidates who didn’t pass to upskill through ICT training and pedagogical development and register for the November batch.
“All candidates who participated in the examination can check the status of their results online at www.fron.gov.ng or www.trcnigeria.ng or visit any of our TRCN State or Liaison Office. Successful candidates can proceed with processing their certificates and licenses.
“Note that the validity of the examination results for certification is one year from the date of this publication.
“TRCN encourages candidates who did not pass to equip themselves through ICT trainings and pedagogical upskills and register for the November batch.
“The Council is committed to supporting the growth and development of educators,” the statement said.
