Lagos govt postpones Lekki-Epe e-call-up enforcement, cuts truck levy

The Lagos State Government has once again deferred the commencement of enforcement of the electronic call-up system for trucks operating along the Lekki-Epe corridor. The enforcement, which had previously been moved from March to June 2025, will now take effect in August.

The latest postponement follows protests by truck operators over a N12,500 levy imposed per truck for access under the electronic scheduling system.

In a statement released on Thursday by the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation, authorities disclosed that the call-up fee has now been reduced from N12,500 to N10,000 per truck in response to concerns raised by transport stakeholders.

According to the statement, the decision emerged from a high-level stakeholders’ meeting convened by the state government and supported by Dangote Industries Limited.

Participants at the meeting included officials from the Ministry of Transportation, as well as representatives from key transport unions and associations, including the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, NUPENG, and the National Association of Road Transport Owners, NARTO.
