Kebbi govt delegation arrives Zuru ahead of late Emir’s funeral

An advanced delegation of the Kebbi State Government has arrived in Zuru to prepare for the funeral of the late Emir of Zuru, Major General Muhammad Sani Sami (Rtd), who died on Saturday night in a London hospital.

The delegation, led by the Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Muhammad Usman Zuru, includes the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Abubakar Garba Dutsinmari; Commissioner for Information and Culture, Yakubu Ahmed Birnin Kebbi; Commissioner for Health, Abdullahi Umar Faruk Muslim; Commissioner for Works, and the Commissioner for Agriculture, Shehu Muazu.

The team is expected to remain in Zuru for the arrival of the late Emir’s body, burial arrangements, and to join the Emir’s family in receiving mourners.

In a statement on Monday, the Special Adviser to Governor Nasir Idris on Media and Publicity, Yahaya Sarki, said the Governor, who is currently on official engagement abroad, expressed deep sadness over the Emir’s death and directed that all necessary support be provided to ensure a befitting burial.
