Katsina: Deputy takes over as Gov Radda proceeds on 3-week medical leave

The Deputy Governor of Katsina State, Malam Faruk Lawal-Jobe, will assume the responsibilities of governance in the state as Governor Dikko Radda begins a three-week medical leave from August 18, 2025.

A statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Dr Bala Salisu-Zango, on Thursday stated that the governor assured of his determination to return to serve the people of the state with renewed energy and dedication after the medical leave.

The governor thanked the citizens for their kind words and ongoing support to his government, saying that taking the necessary steps to prioritise his health is essential so that he can continue to serve effectively and make the best decisions for the state.

“I look forward to returning to my duties as soon as I finish my medical checkup,” the governor said.

The statement stated that the Deputy Governor, Malam Faruk Lawal-Jobe, would ensure seamless governance and continued leadership in the state.

Radda expressed optimism in the deputy governor’s ability to lead the state to greater heights and manage affairs with the same dedication and commitment.

He assured the public that all ongoing initiatives, programmes and projects will continue to progress without interruption.
