Kano Pillars Secure N100m Partnership Deal

Kano Pillars have announced a N100m partnership agreement with Radio France Internationale Hausa ahead of the 2025-26 NPFL season.

The agreement was unveiled on Thursday at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano, during a ceremony attended by officials of both organisations.

Under this new sponsorship agreement, RFI Hausa becomes the main sponsor of Kano Pillars FC for the upcoming football season.

The RFI Hausa logo will be featured prominently on the chest of Kano Pillars’ home, away, and alternate jerseys, as well as across official team branding and promotional materials.

The General Manager of Kano Pillars and former Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, described the deal as a new dawn for the club.

He said: “This marks a new dawn for Kano Pillars FC as we strive to elevate this great club to unprecedented heights. As the General Manager, I want to assure our fans, stakeholders, and the entire football community that our doors are always open.

“This is a proud moment for Kano Pillars. We are happy to welcome RFI Hausa into the Kano Pillars family.

“We are committed to transparency, progress, and excellence and I strongly believe that brighter days filled with success and glory lie ahead for Sai Masu Gida.”

RFI is offering far more than we expected. They are contributing ₦5 million in cash, along with a total support package worth around ₦100 million.

According to him, the one-year partnership is valued at N100m, comprising N45m in cash and N55m in equipment and services.

He said the support package includes digital media equipment such as cameras and computers, monthly training for the club’s media team, and new jerseys to be sponsored by RFI Hausa.

A prototype of the jersey, which incorporates traditional Kano designs, was unveiled at the event.

Musa called on individuals and organisations to emulate RFI Hausa by partnering with the club to promote football development in the state.

Similarly, Director of RFI Hausa in Nigeria, Mr Joseph Penny, said the partnership aims to project Kano Pillars to a wider international audience.

He said: “The partnership goes beyond logo placement on jerseys. It is about supporting the club’s heritage and growth.”

He noted that RFI Hausa, with over 1.6 million followers on Facebook and nearly 800,000 on TikTok, would leverage its platforms.

The Director of France Médias Monde Nigeria, Joe Penney, expressed RFI Hausa’s enthusiasm about the collaboration.

He said: “RFI Hausa is proud to partner with such an important and beloved Nigerian football club. We believe in the team’s vision and future, and we will help push the club forward as much as possible.”

The agreement covers all categories of the club, including the senior team, the second team, Junior Pillars, and youth teams in the U-13, U-15, and U-19 brackets.

Kano Pillars finished ninth in the NPFL last season.
