Kano listed among states likely to experience flooding – FG
The Federal Government has listed Kano State among the states likely to experience flooding between July 16 and July 20, 2025.
This warning was contained in a flood prediction notice issued by the National Flood Early Warning Center, under the Federal Ministry of Environment on Wednesday.
According to the report, several areas in Kano State, including Kunchi, Kano city, Gezawa, Wudil, Bebeji, Sumaila, and Tudun Wada, may witness heavy rainfall that could lead to flooding.
The Director of Erosion, Flood and Coastal Zone Management Department, Usman Abdullahi Bokani, urged relevant stakeholders and state government representatives to take necessary precautions to reduce the impact of potential floods.
