Kano Fire Service Saves 3 Lives, N102.9m Properties
The Kano State Fire Service said it saved three lives and protected properties valued at N102.9m in 21 fire incidents across the state in August.
This was disclosed on Tuesday by the Public Relations Officer of the Service, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi.
“During the period under review, about three persons died, while property worth N47.8 million was destroyed by fire,” Abdullahi revealed.
The agency added that it responded to 11 emergency calls throughout the month and recorded zero false alarms, attributed to increased public awareness.
Abdullahi reminded the public of the importance of fire safety, urging residents to exercise caution.
“We call on the general public to handle fire with care, and make sure they turn off electrical appliances, gas, and generators before leaving their homes,” he advised.
