Kaduna Govt Says Bye-Election Victory Proof Of Sani’s Inclusive Governance

Kaduna State Commissioner of Information-designate, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, has described the All Progressives Congress’ victory in the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency by-election as proof of Governor Uba Sani’s “inclusive governance and people-centered policies.”

Reacting to the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Maiyaki told newsmen in Kaduna on Sunday that the outcome reflected the trust communities in the state now repose in the leadership of Governor Sani and the ruling party.

According to him, the triumph was both “historic and symbolic,” breaking a longstanding jinx in a constituency that had consistently resisted the APC in past elections.

“The people of Chikun and Kajuru, as well as those in Zaria Kewaye and Basawa State Assembly constituencies, have spoken loud and clear — they want progressive leadership, not recycled promises,” Maiyaki said.

The WHISTLER reports that INEC’s official results showed the APC polled 34,580 votes in Chikun/Kajuru, defeating the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which scored 11,491 votes. The African Democratic Congress (ADC) secured 3,477 votes, while the Social Democratic Party (SDP) managed only 142 votes.

Maiyaki argued that the landslide victories were a direct outcome of Governor Sani’s grassroots-focused leadership, which he said had delivered tangible results in road infrastructure, healthcare renewal, education reforms, and security interventions.

“These are policies that resonate strongly with voters and paved the way for this sweeping victory,” the commissioner added amid jubilations following the announcement of results.

With the outcome, Maiyaki said, the APC has consolidated its hold on Kaduna politics, extending its dominance into territories once regarded as opposition strongholds.

“Chikun and Kajuru are no longer opposition enclaves. They are now part of the consolidated strongholds of a party whose grip on Kaduna’s future is growing firmer by the day,” he said.

He maintained that the momentum from the landmark victory had positioned the APC on a solid pedestal ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“For the APC family, the message is unmistakable: the people of Kaduna are embracing progressive leadership built on inclusivity, development, and results,” Maiyaki concluded.
