Kaduna Govt Reaffirms Commitment To Quality Education

The Kaduna State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to providing quality education to its citizens of the state.

This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Mohammed Sani-Bello, during the inauguration of a 23-member State Steering Committee for the Kaduna State Education Summit 2025 – KADA EDUPACT International Summit, in Kaduna on Thursday.

The Summit has as its theme: ‘Setting a strategic vision for educational transformation in Kaduna State’.

According to Sani-Bello, the summit aims to drive transformative change in Kaduna State’s education sector, positioning it as a model of educational excellence in Nigeria.

He said the summit will be anchored on four strategic pillars: Policy, Governance, and Innovative Education Financing; Access and Retention; Credible Learning Outcomes from Quality Inputs; and Technology and Innovation.

“The summit’s objective is to forge an Educational PACT between the government and the people, establishing a commitment to a shared model for education delivery, measurable outcomes, and clearly defined non-negotiables,” Sani-Bello said.

The Commissioner expressed optimism that the summit will attract local and international investments in education, shape critical policy decisions for better governance and efficiency, and explore technological innovations to improve teaching and learning outcomes.

He further noted that key objectives of the summit, including to position Kaduna State’s education sector as a model of excellence in Nigeria; expand access to basic education and reintegrate out-of-school children; strengthen tertiary education and research for innovation as well as explore EdTech options to improve teaching and learning outcomes.

Sani-Bello added that the summit will feature keynote addresses from distinguished international speakers, who will provide insights and best practices in education reform, while noting that “Governor Uba Sani, is expected to unveil the Agenda-PACT, Kaduna State’s transformative outcomes for education, during the summit.”

He said the Steering Committee, chaired by Prof. Usman Abubakar Zaria, Director-General, Kaduna State Schools Quality Assurance Authority, will oversee the summit’s planning, execution, and post-event follow-up.

According to him, the committee’s terms of reference include developing a detailed budget, mobilizing funding, coordinating logistics, and documenting summit proceedings for policy follow-up.

He added that the summit was expected to among others, “to facilitate collaborative planning to enhance Kaduna’s education model; draw in local and international investments in education; inform critical policy decisions for better governance and efficiency; explore EdTech options to improve teaching and learning outcomes and develop a model for proactive and sustainable educational reforms.”

The Commissioner emphasized that the summit will provide a platform for stakeholders to collaborate, share best practices, and develop actionable strategies for sustained improvements in Kaduna’s education system.

“By hosting this summit, the Kaduna State Government demonstrates its commitment to providing quality education and improving the lives of its citizens. The outcome of the summit is expected to have a lasting impact on the state’s education sector, driving growth and development for years to come,” he added.
