Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has announced that 59 kidnapped victims, who were recently released through the joint efforts of the Kaduna State Government, Office of the National Security Adviser, and Security Agencies, have been certified medically and psychologically fit to return to their families.

The governor made this announcement on his verified Facebook handle where he expressed his emotions as he bid farewell to the victims.

They were received at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House, Kaduna on Monday after 10 days of intensive monitoring at the Kaduna State Shelter Home.

“Emotions were at their peak as I bade farewell to the 59 kidnap victims that were recently released through the joint efforts of the Kaduna State Government, Office of the National Security Adviser and Security Agencies,” Governor Sani said.

According to the governor, the victims underwent 10 days of intensive care and monitoring at the Kaduna State Shelter Home, where they received medical treatment and psychosocial therapy.

“After 10 days of intensive care and monitoring, they were certified medically and psychologically fit to return to their families and carry out their normal activities,” he said.

The governor praised the victims for their courage and resilience, and announced that the State Government will provide them with start-up funds and tools to help them restart their lives.

“The victims gave strong assurances that they will put the terrible experience behind them and focus on their families and businesses.

“In appreciation of their courage and resilience, as well as their firm determination to pursue their businesses despite the horrible experience, the State Government will support them with start-up funds and tools that will help them start life afresh,” Governor Sani said.

The governor reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and property, saying that it will continue to work towards sustaining peace and security in the state.

“The Kaduna State Government remains committed to ensuring the safety of lives and property.

“We shall continue to do all that is necessary to sustain the prevailing peace and security in Kaduna State,” the governor added.

The governor also commended the state’s Peace Model, which has been hailed as an innovative and sustainable path to peace building and conflict transformation.

“Our Peace Model has been hailed as an innovative, result-oriented and sustainable path to peace building and conflict transformation.

“We shall continue along this noble path despite the machinations of individuals whose stock in trade is to play politics with security,” he added. ENDS.
