Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) must win the August 16 Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, Basawa, and Sabon Gari State Assembly bye-elections, insisting that “victory is not optional; it is imperative.”

Speaking on Friday during the inauguration of the APC Campaign Committee for the three bye-elections in Kaduna, the governor, represented by his deputy, Dr Hadiza Balarabe, said the stakes were too high for the party to contemplate defeat.

“We must go into these elections with total commitment, strategic thinking, and unified action. This is about the future of our great party in Kaduna State. Sentiments must be set aside. We must unite behind one shared goal: a clean sweep on August 16,” he said..

According to him, the party’s message to the electorate must be anchored on its ideals, proven record of delivery, and vision for a Kaduna where “no one is left behind.”

Balarabe, who delivered the governor’s message, stressed that Sani’s administration had governed with fairness, equity, and inclusiveness across all senatorial districts, local governments, and communities.

“The people of Kaduna State have seen a government that is fair, inclusive, and development-oriented. This is why the APC is worth supporting. Our campaign must focus on the party’s track record and vision, and we must remind the people of the power of political alignment,” she said.

The deputy governor also charged committee members to prioritise the needs and concerns of the people during the campaign, warning that the party must not take voter support for granted.

Party leaders at the event echoed the governor’s call for unity and discipline.

Kaduna State APC Chairman, Air Commodore Emmanuel Jekada(retd.), said the campaign team was carefully selected based on proven capacity.

“You have been chosen because of your track records. Stay focused. Victory must be our only goal,” Jekada said, assuring the committee of full backing from the party’s state leadership.

On his part, the Chairman of the Campaign Committee and Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Liman, pledged to mobilise every resource and stakeholder for the party’s success.

“All hands will be on deck. We are not leaving anything to chance. August 16 will be a victory day for the APC,” Liman declared.

The APC faces a potentially keen contest in the bye-elections, which will test the ruling party’s strength in the three constituencies ahead of future political battles in the state.
