Jandor Dumps PDP
Abdul-Azeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The former Lagos State governorship candidate, who contested in the 2023 general elections, made the announcement on Monday at a press briefing held in Ikeja.
Jandor attributed his departure to growing indiscipline and rampant anti-party activities within the PDP. He specifically pointed to the actions of some party leaders, including former Deputy National Chairman, Chief Olabode George, whom he accused of working against the party during the 2023 elections.
Accompanied by a large group of supporters, Jandor stated that consultations are ongoing regarding his next political move.
“We will consult widely with everybody and then take the decision to collapse our structure to another platform. What is majority on the ground now is that we have left the Peoples Democratic Party,” he said.
His exit comes less than 24 hours after he welcomed the 2023 presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar, at the presidential wing of Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.
Abubakar was in Lagos to pay his respects and offer condolences to the family and loved ones of the late Pa Ayo Adebanjo, the leader of Afenifere, a Yoruba socio-political group.
Jandor was accompanied by several key leaders from the Lagos chapter of the PDP in receiving the former Vice President. Among them was the 2023 Senatorial Candidate for Lagos West, Segun Adewale.
Also in attendance were the esteemed Ajiroba Taiwo Kuye, Shamsudeen Arobieke (Arobenz), and others.
