Farouk Aliyu, a close ally of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, says it is unfortunate that some Nigerians have gone online to rain insults on the former Nigerian leader who passed on on Sunday, July 13, 2025.

The former Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, stated this on Monday when he appeared as a guest on ‘Sunrise Daily’ a programme on Channels Television.

According to him, though Buhari had his shortcomings, the former president should not be denied garlands for his achievement.

“Each of us must have done something wrong to someone in one way or the other. It is quite unformate that Nigerians are heaping insults on former president Buhari after he has died.

“We all are humans and have our different shortcomings. Buhari is no exception. He should be respected and praised for his own contribution to our national growth and development,” he said.
