Israel’s Attack On Iran ‘Excellent’, Says Trump

President Donald Trump has confirmed that the United States was aware of Israel’s planned military strike on Iran and described the operation as ‘excellent’.
Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, Trump clarified that the notification was not a formal warning but an awareness of Israel’s intentions.
“It wasn’t a heads up. It was, we know what’s going on,” he said.
In separate remarks to ABC News, Trump praised the strike as “excellent,” reiterating that Iran had been given ample opportunity to de-escalate.
“We gave them a chance and they didn’t take it. They got hit hard, very hard. They got hit about as hard as you’re going to get hit. And there’s more to come. A lot more,” he said.
The coordinated Israeli airstrikes, which took place early Friday, targeted multiple military facilities across Iran, including nuclear sites.
According to Iranian media, high-ranking military officials were killed, including Armed Forces Chief of Staff Mohammad Bagheri and IRGC Commander Hossein Salami.
In response to the attack, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei vowed retaliation, warning that Israel had “prepared a bitter fate for itself.”
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to speak directly with President Trump today, according to a post from Netanyahu’s official X account.
The Israeli leader has already spoken with several other world leaders, including those of Germany, India, and France, and plans to contact Russian President Vladimir Putin and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
Amid regional tensions, Israel has shut down all its diplomatic missions worldwide. The Foreign Ministry advised Israeli citizens abroad to avoid displaying national symbols and to limit their presence at large events tied to Israel.
Consular services have been suspended, and citizens were urged to register their location with the ministry’s situation room.
Meanwhile, Israel’s military signalled the potential for an extended conflict.
Military spokesperson Effie Defrin said on Friday that the country must be ready for “a prolonged operation,” citing both the escalating confrontation with Iran and ongoing operations in Gaza.
“We know Iran is preparing for a response and to fire at us,” Defrin said, noting that most drones launched by Iran in retaliation had already been intercepted.
“We will continue operating until the war’s objectives are reached,” he added.
