Investment Firm Returns 640% on Bitcoin-Heavy Portfolio
David Bailey’s crypto-focused investment firm, 210k Capital, has posted a stunning 640% net return over the past year, largely driven by strategic bets on Bitcoin-aligned companies.
Bailey, who also serves as a crypto adviser to former U.S. President Donald Trump and is the founder of Bitcoin Inc., has long been an advocate for broader Bitcoin adoption. His influence recently extended to organising the Bitcoin 2025 event, a key gathering for blockchain leaders and investors.
According to a Bloomberg report, 210k Capital’s sharp gains were primarily fueled by its targeted investments in firms with significant Bitcoin holdings, often referred to as Bitcoin treasury companies. As of June 30, the fund oversaw $433 million in assets, showcasing its rapid growth.
One of the fund’s standout investments was in The Smarter Web, a UK-based company that has seen a staggering near-14,000% return since February. This early bet significantly boosted the fund’s returns and exemplifies Bailey’s high-risk, high-reward approach to capital deployment.
210k Capital maintains about 30 active investments, mostly in public companies that have made Bitcoin a central part of their financial strategy. These holdings span across the U.S., U.K., Japan, Canada, Sweden, and Australia, accounting for nearly 95% of the fund’s total assets.
A particularly successful position has been in Metaplanet, a Japanese hotel operator that pivoted into a Bitcoin treasury entity. 210k Capital initially invested $1 million in warrants, which have since appreciated to a valuation of $106 million. At the time of this investment, the fund had only $44 million in assets under management, underscoring the scale of the gain.
Now, the fund is looking toward untapped markets where Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have yet to be approved. Bailey and his team are eyeing regions like India, South Korea, Southeast Asia, and Latin America as promising frontiers for new deals and exposure.
