Insecurity: Police arrest 2 notorious gun manufacturers, four distributors in Lafia
Operatives of the Nasarawa State Police Command have arrested two suspected gun manufacturers and four buyers in Lafia, the state capital.
The state Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Mohammed Jauro made the disclosure during a press conference on Tuesday.
According to the CP, the suspected gun manufacturers, James Philip and Alpha Philip, of Faferuwa area, Lafia were nabbed on August 31, 2025.
He said the four suspected buyers and distributors were discovered after an investigation was launched into the arrested manufacturers.
The include, Usman Abubakar, male, of Shendam Road, Lafia; Yakubu Danladi, male, of Mararaba Akunza, Lafia; Usman Kasimu alias Bobo, male, of Bukan Sidi, Lafia and Abdullahi Adamu, male, also of Bukan Sidi, Lafia.
Thirteen long-range single-barrel guns, ten short guns, one revolver gun, three swords, various criminal charms, three police uniforms and a face cap and three gun-manufacturing machines and tools were recovered from the suspects.
