INEC Chair Yakubu stood on right side of history – ADC on new executives
The National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Bolaji Abdullahi, on Wednesday said the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Chairman, Yakubu stood on the right side of history.
Abdullahi commended Yakubu and ADC members following INEC’s acknowledgement of the New leadership of the party.
On Wednesday, INEC approved the new executives of ADC.
The electoral umpire on its official website confirmed David Mark as the party’s National Chairman, Rauf Aregbesola as National Secretary.
Mani, Ibrahim Ahmad is the National Treasurer of the party while Akibu Dalhatu serves as the
National Financial Secretary.
Also, the electoral umpire approved Oserheimen Aigberaodion Osunbor as the new National Legal Adviser of the ADC.
The new executives took over the leadership of the ADC after the opposition coalition adopted the party, a few months ago.
But a faction of the party had resisted the move, claiming that they are the original owners.
However, Abdullahi posted on X: “We congratulate ADC members and all lovers of democracy in Nigeria.
“We commend @INECNigeria and its Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, for standing on the right side of history and for standing up for the cause of multi-party democracy. Arise and shine, Nigeria.”
