Imo Suspends Traffic Enforcement Over Rampant Impersonation

The Imo State Environmental Transformation Commission (ENTRACO) has suspended all enforcement teams currently operating under the obstruction and One-way traffic offences unit in the state.
The suspension was contained in a press statement signed by the commission’s spokesman, Darlington Chidera Ibekwe.
Ibekwe said the commission under the leadership of Hon. Anthony Anyaehie had received several complaints of individuals impersonating officials of the commission to cause havoc in the state.
He further revealed that operatives of the commission will undergo proper training and will be kitted with the approved new uniforms for easy identification.
He said:”The Imo State Environmental Commission (ENTRACO), under the leadership of Hon. Anthony Anyaehie, hereby issues an immediate suspension of all enforcement teams currently operating under the Obstruction and One-way Traffic Offenses Unit.
“This decision follows numerous reports from concerned citizens regarding impersonation and excessive conduct by individuals claiming to represent
ENTRACO.
“In response, and in a bid to restore public confidence and order within the system, ENTRACO has introduced a new standardized uniform for its accredited personnel and Identity Cards with security features.
“All operatives are hereby directed to return their current branded jackets to the commission’s headquarters for revalidation.
“No enforcement activity under the aforementioned categories is to continue from Monday 26th May, 2025 until operatives are properly trained and kitted with the newly introduced uniforms.
“This move marks a renewed effort to checkmate impersonation, enforce accountability and ensure that only duly identified ENTRACO personnel are on duty across the state.
“The public is encouraged to report any suspicious or unauthorized individuals claiming flouting this directive to the Entraco Complaint Desk or call 08141651699, furthermore, any operative who refuses to comply with this directive would face the full wrath of the law.”
