Imo Govt To Construct New IIRS Headquarters

The Imo State Internal Revenue Service (IIRS) is set to undergo significant infrastructural enhancement, with the commencement of construction on a modern, state-of-the-art headquarters in Owerri.
According to the post of the Imo State Government social media handle, the project reflects a strategic move to enhance revenue administration and improve service delivery across the state.
The project awarded to Craneburg Construction Company, is expected to officially commence work on the site as they have been mobilised.
The new IIRS headquarters has been designed to comply with international standards, providing a contemporary work environment that is outfitted with state-of-the-art facilities to facilitate smooth tax operations.
Located in the center of Owerri, this facility will accommodate essential departments and foster a more accessible and efficient interaction between the agency and taxpayers.
According to the Executive Chairman of IIRS, Justice Okoye, the project is more than just a building. “It represents a new era for tax administration in Imo State. This headquarters will enhance our capacity, promote accountability, and drive a culture of voluntary tax compliance,” he noted.
When completed, the new headquarters is expected to boost staff morale, strengthen institutional efficiency, and contribute significantly to Imo State’s drive to expand its internally generated revenue base.
