The Nigeria Police Force has reiterated its commitment to tackling insecurity following a series of arrests linked to kidnapping and armed crimes across the country.
The Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, made this known on Monday via his official X handle.
The arrests come amid growing concerns over insecurity in various parts of the country.
On January 21, 2025, police operatives arrested three individuals Abubakar Lawan (24), Isiaku Abdullahi (35), and Abbas Maisaude (26) over alleged involvement in a criminal conspiracy, unlawful possession of firearms, and kidnapping.
According to the police, the suspects confessed to multiple kidnapping operations across Rijana, Lambata, Dandume, and Ugama in Kaduna and Niger States.
Adojobi noted an AK-49 rifle, two AK-47 rifles, and 28 rounds of live ammunition recovered from the suspects.

Another police operation on January 27, 2025, led to the arrest of Yakubu Musa (30) and Usman Musa (25) in Kaduna State.
The two were accused of involvement in kidnappings and cattle rustling in the Soba and Ikara regions as security operatives recovered three AK-47 rifles and 19 rounds of live ammunition from them.
In a new development, the police said eight armed assailants were apprehended on March 11, 2025, when a team from the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) on assignment to Edo State reportedly walked into an ambush at Oshara Ganden, a border community between Kogi and Edo States.
According to Adejobi, the armed assailants overpowered were identified as Tukur Salisu, Sani Abubakar, Mamud Sani, Umar Abdullahi, Salisu Mohammed, Salisu Usman, Bashir Audu, and Jibril Haruna.
Weapons allegedly recovered from them included an AK-47 rifle with 29 rounds of live ammunition, an Israeli pump-action rifle, two other pump-action rifles, a single-barrel shotgun, and two motorcycles.
Adejobi reiterated the police’s stance on tackling insecurity, urging Nigerians to provide information that could aid law enforcement.
He said, “To those who choose a life of crime, the Force is resolute in its mission to attain justice.
“There will be no sanctuary for criminals in Nigeria.”
