Nigerian music star Tiwa Savage on Friday said her 10-year-old son, Jamil, is the only true love she has ever known.
The Eminado singer reflected on her past relationships and described them as mere infatuations rather than genuine love.
During a recent interview with Zeze Mills, the 45-year-old shared her doubts about romantic love, expressing uncertainty over whether it is part of her destiny.
“I’ve never felt true love except with my son. Looking back at my relationships, even my marriage, I realise it wasn’t love.
“I’ve tried repeatedly, so maybe love isn’t meant for me in this lifetime.
“Maybe love isn’t for me because I have tried over and over again, so maybe love isn’t for me this lifetime,” she added.
Savage had earlier spoken about her divorce from ex-husband Tunji ‘TeeBillz‘ Balogun.
They got married in 2013 but ended the marriage in 2018 after several failed reconciliation efforts.
“At the time, I was struggling with postpartum depression after giving birth to my son.
“I had faced intense criticism from the public, with many attacking me without giving me a chance to share my side of the story,” she noted.
